Entry #10: Acts of Kindness

Entry #10: Acts of Kindness To begin, Happy holidays everyone! This entry will be simple, as I will introduce something that will make the holidays a little sweeter. Acts of Kindness. Every year we all prep and gather together to share traditions that I say are pretty important. Large feasts, family gatherings, gift giving, and the ball drop; all of these things play a role in our society and lifestyle today. It is all significant; however, what happens to those who can't enjoy the holidays with loved ones? What about those who you may know and consider them to be a "scrooge"? Unfortunatly not everyone this year is going to have a "Happy Thanksgiving" or "Merry Christmas"; and some people may be over the idea of the holiday season. Routine can be boring; it doesn't make any person ungrateful or miserable to want some change in their tune. What better to have joy than to give joy?  Here are some things to make a holiday a litt...

Entry #9: Happy Birthday!

Image
Blog Entry #9: Happy Birthday (McDonalds meal 2010-2016) McDonalds, a name once only know by the nation; now implemented worldwide. It's the staple of what makes American food, well American. From the famous Big  Mac  to my personal favorite; chicken nuggets, McDonalds is a name many known. That being said; what in the world have I been eating all these years! The author of this photo is the proud owner of a 6 year old meal; that doesn't look a day over 5. The likely hood of digesting that now and possibly living; is slim to none. So why do we consume junk that is made 100% "fresh". The buns don't even have mold on them, and its been 6 years! The "meat" patty has shrunk in size, the fries are pencils; yet still have that golden hue. This is wrong on another level. I have kept strawberries in the fridge for little over a week and they had to be thrown out. Whether this was placed in an air tight container, or away from further decomposition, cans ...

Entry #8: Stardew Valley

Image
Entry #8: Stardew Valley (StarDew Valley) Ladies and gentlemen; for the past 3 days I have invested; time, energy, and sleep for this game. Stardew Valley, a mixture of: Minecraft, Pokemon, Terraria, and sims. This game, that costed me $14.99, is possibly going to be the reason I don't get a full nights rest. This game is based on the player (you) inheriting a farm from their grandfather and flipping it. It consists of a number of things that I won't go into detail about, but it is worth the investment. For starters what kind of game is worth investing $14.99? Whether you think the price is too high or low, I will tell you. I will name off a long list of a few things possible to do in Stardew Valley: fishing, farming, adventure, progression, and multiplayer. A game where friends and family can come together and make an earnest living. It's full of story that can easily immerse any player who is reluctant at first. From enjoying the seasons to diving i...

Entry #7: Fresh

Image
Entry #7: Fresh A fter watching the film: "Fresh"; I wasn't surprised at some of the things farmers do to make produce. At first! The introduction to agriculture is something I'm aware of; living in a small town with fields of :grapes, almonds, oranges, cows, and garlic. It wasn't until witnessing the cruelty of the poor chicks being tossed like heaps of dirt, that I got to thinking. This film won't make me stop eating chicken nuggets, but if the farmers can treat their livestock in an awful manner; why would they care for us? This film was clearly meant to reach those who take interest in the wellness of their own health and animals. Why is there research done for anti-animal cruelty facial creams, makeup, and lotions; but none done on our food. As ironic as it sounds, I don't want to know my food suffered.  This film showcases the realties of the animal care, pesticides, options, and the wellness of consumers. Even though America has th...

Entry #6: Once a Cheater always a Cheater?

Image
Entry #6: Once a Cheater always a Cheater? Love is always great; cynical or not, the idea is universal and ranges on a large spectrum. In the greek language, love has 7 different meanings that pertains to a specific feeling. This blog is about the love one has for a significant other, and the issue infidelity causes to change the feeling entirely. When being betrayed or betraying, can change occur or does the old saying stick true: "Once a cheater always a cheater?".  For better understanding of this context, what exactly counts as cheating? Some would say having a whole other secret relationship, while others think liking a certain photo of another person counts as being unfaithful. Biblically, a single inappropriate thought counts as being unfaithful, so what can we go based off of to protect the values and commitment of a relationship?  By definition a cheater is: " a person who acts dishonestly in order to gain an advantage.", this appl...

Entry #5: Cleaning Lady Commercial

Image
Entry #5: Cleaning Lady Commercial (Cleaning Lady Commercial: AllState Mayhem) A ll things aside, the look the man gives before falling backwards on the stairs, is gold. I chose the Cleaning Lady commercial, because of how goofy this commercial is. The way he knocks over the vase sarcastically and eats the piece of bread. So clearly he is a house keeper who isn't doing his job, but this isn't the point. As he climbs the stairs; he falls, which means because he was hurt whilst working, he needs to be compensated. This commercial reminds home owners that although you can have hired help for cleaning, it is still a job that requires securities. Any injuries or accidents that happen while on the job, must be compensated and handled by the employer. That being said, the "maid" asks are you covered by your insurance incase this happens?  T his is directed to home owners, but by seeing the home style and lack of certain things, I'm assuming this ad is ...

Entry #4: Video Games, The Root of Evil?

Image
Video Games, The Root of Evil? (controllers used to play on console) I t is safe to say the video game industry, dominates this generations use of technology. For some background, according to a quick google search, America has spent an average of 36 billion dollars on video games last year. Now as crazy as that sou nds, in recent media and news, it is believed that video games have raised the crimes of violence in our youth.  (video game rating chart) B efore we look at the numbers and critic reviews of this fun hobby, let's review a chart that actually lists which games will contain violence. The four top letters: "EC, E, E+10, and T"; are acronyms that have right above their lettering, their intended audience. E, is recognizable as being know for "everyone". E can be enjoyed...well by everyone, as it is simple in complexity and has little to no violence (lack of blood or gore, cursing, realistic deadly weapons, nudity), for example; Mario...
