Blog Entry #9: Happy Birthday

(McDonalds meal 2010-2016)
McDonalds, a name once only know by the nation; now implemented worldwide. It's the staple of what makes American food, well American. From the famous Big Mac to my personal favorite; chicken nuggets, McDonalds is a name many known. That being said; what in the world have I been eating all these years! The author of this photo is the proud owner of a 6 year old meal; that doesn't look a day over 5. The likely hood of digesting that now and possibly living; is slim to none. So why do we consume junk that is made 100% "fresh".
The buns don't even have mold on them, and its been 6 years! The "meat" patty has shrunk in size, the fries are pencils; yet still have that golden hue. This is wrong on another level. I have kept strawberries in the fridge for little over a week and they had to be thrown out. Whether this was placed in an air tight container, or away from further decomposition, cans don't last that long. Point being the lack of : mold, discoloration, misshapen form, and bugs; this is concerning.
It's clear that McDonalds isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The consumers and franchises see a personal benefit, and it's alarming that if this meal can last 6 years, what is it doing in our body? Stay tuned for more in the future.

McDonalds really is a bigger issue and they have not taken action to change there food. My kids love there cheeseburgers and chickens nuggets. I am a huge fan of there hot n' spicy. As much as you may enjoy there food, looking at this picture makes you take a second look about what you are putting into you and your kids bodies. I agree with you about the strawberries, haha. It seems like you buy them one day and a couple days later they accumulate mold. Which is common in some produce. This image is concerning and should inform all McDonald's customers to stop purchasing there food or even do it less often. I'm glad you wrote about this topic. It made me reflect on what my kids should really be eating instead of all this junk that is quick and convenient.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing on the menu is their spicy chicken. Its so affordable. I've never seen this picture until now. Usually when I am tired from a long day and my family isn't home I go to McDonald's and get some food. I know its not the healthiest thing but its food and its cheap. I will begin to think twice before I eat there.
ReplyDeleteThis picture is indeed disturbing because it shows the truth about what behind these fast food companies. Many people don't realize what they are eating or rather don't care just because it fast and cheap food to fill them up. And I really doubt that McDonalds will change anything because there's no reason if no one is speaking up to the company.
ReplyDeleteWow. I knew that McDonald's food was fake and bad for you, but this picture makes it seem unnatural.
ReplyDeleteThis post has impacted your readers based on the comments above! This is an interesting topic and has a lot of potential for a blog post. That said, what is the larger point you want to make in this post?
